The park was created and designed by Roger Tofte, who had a dream of building a family-friendly theme park in Turner, Oregon. He purchased twenty wooded acres of land next to Interstate 5 in 1964 and began construction on evenings and weekends. The park opened on August 8, 1971, to seventy-five paying customers.

One of the most popular attractions at Enchanted Forest is Storybook Lane, a path through the woods that takes guests on a journey to several classic fairy tales. Featuring characters from Hansel and Gretel, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, and Peter Pumpkin Eater, the lane is filled with fun sculptures that kids can climb on.

For younger kids, the park also offers a mini train ride and a kiddy bumper boat. In addition, there are other rides for children of all ages. Some of the other attractions at Enchanted Forest include a hair-raising horror house, a reconstructed village, and a Summer Comedy Theater that features original musical plays based on classic fairytales.

Another favorite attraction at the park is Fantasy Fountains, a water light show with 359 water jets that are choreographed to music. The show runs every 15 minutes, so you won’t want to miss it!
